Maj Gen Ignatius Delos Flora has officially taken charge as the Additional Director General of the Military Nursing Service (MNS) on September 1, 2023. With an illustrious career spanning 38 years, her appointment to this prestigious role marks another significant milestone in her dedicated service.

Early Education and Training

Maj Gen Ignatius Delos Flora’s journey in nursing and healthcare began at the School of Nursing, Army Hospital Delhi Cantt, now known as the College of Nursing, Army Hospital (R&R). It was here that she laid the foundation for her remarkable career in the military nursing service.

A Distinguished Career

Commissioned into the MNS in 1985, Maj Gen Ignatius Delos Flora’s commitment to excellence led her to pursue further education. In 1986, she successfully completed her Midwifery training at Command Hospital Air Force Bangalore, enhancing her skill set and contributing to her exceptional career.

Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, she achieved a significant milestone by obtaining her PCBSc Nursing degree from the College of Nursing AFMC Pune in 1995. This further solidified her expertise in nursing and her dedication to serving in various key roles within the Armed Forces Medical Services.

Key Appointments

Throughout her distinguished career, Maj Gen Ignatius Delos Flora has held key appointments within the Armed Forces Medical Services. These appointments have allowed her to contribute significantly to the healthcare and nursing landscape within the military.

Some of her notable appointments include serving as JDMNS (Training & Hospital Services) at Eastern Command, contributing to the training and healthcare services essential to the armed forces. She has also made significant contributions as DPM at INHS Asvini and as the Principal Matron at AICTS Pune.

Maj Gen Ignatius Delos Flora’s dedication and commitment to her profession have been instrumental in her appointment as Brigadier in the Military Nursing Service at HQ Northern Command.
