Raksha Mantri Holds Bilateral Meetings in Bishkek with his counterparts from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus to further strengthen defence and strategic cooperation between India and Central Asian nations. During the high-level meetings, Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh discussed regional security, military collaboration, training exchanges, and defence partnerships aimed at enhancing mutual trust and long-term cooperation.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of an important regional defence gathering in Bishkek, where global and regional security challenges were among the key topics of discussion. Shri Rajnath Singh also held separate discussions with the Defence Ministers of China and Russia regarding the evolving security situation in West Asia and its potential impact on regional stability.
India’s growing engagement with Central Asian countries reflects its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships in the Eurasian region. During the bilateral talks with Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, discussions focused on expanding defence cooperation through joint military exercises, defence technology collaboration, counter-terrorism efforts, and capacity-building initiatives.

A significant highlight of the visit was the gifting of two Bhishm Aarogya Maitri Health Cubes by Shri Rajnath Singh to Kyrgyzstan. These advanced medical support units are designed to assist in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) as well as Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. The gesture reflects India’s commitment to supporting friendly nations during emergencies and natural disasters.
The Bhishm Aarogya Maitri Health Cube is an innovative healthcare support system developed to provide rapid medical assistance in remote and disaster-affected areas. Equipped with essential medical tools and emergency healthcare facilities, the units can play a vital role in disaster response and humanitarian missions.
During his interaction with the Chinese Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh discussed regional peace, border stability, and the importance of maintaining dialogue to avoid tensions. The leaders also exchanged views on global security concerns and the current geopolitical developments in West Asia.
In his meeting with the Russian Defence Minister, the Raksha Mantri reviewed the long-standing India-Russia defence partnership and discussed ongoing defence cooperation projects. Both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing military and strategic collaboration in line with evolving global security requirements.
India’s active diplomatic and defence engagement in Central Asia highlights the country’s increasing role in regional security cooperation and multilateral partnerships.
