Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah attended the President’s Colour Award Ceremony of the National Disaster Response Force in Ghaziabad as the Chief Guest and praised the force for its exceptional service during disasters and emergency situations across the country.
During the ceremony, Amit Shah congratulated the NDRF personnel for receiving the prestigious President’s Colour, which is considered one of the highest honours awarded to a security or uniformed force in recognition of its dedicated service, discipline, and contribution to the nation.
The Union Home Minister highlighted the crucial role played by the NDRF in disaster management, rescue operations, and humanitarian assistance during floods, earthquakes, cyclones, landslides, industrial accidents, and other emergencies. He stated that the force has earned the trust of the people through its professionalism, courage, and quick response capabilities.
Amit Shah noted that the NDRF has transformed into a world-class disaster response force and has successfully handled numerous challenging rescue missions both in India and abroad. He appreciated the personnel for their commitment to saving lives and supporting affected communities during difficult times.
The ceremony included a parade, demonstrations by NDRF teams, and recognition of the achievements and operational excellence of the force. Senior officials, dignitaries, and members of the disaster response community were also present at the event.
The President’s Colour Award symbolizes honour, dedication, and distinguished service to the nation. Officials stated that the recognition reflects the outstanding contribution made by the NDRF in strengthening India’s disaster preparedness and emergency response system.
